Make every route traceable
Fiber performance relies on more than cable type. Pathway protection, termination quality and records determine how easily the network can be expanded or repaired.
Agree before work starts
- Drawing that distinguishes feeder, distribution, riser and drop routes.
- Fiber/core allocation, joint locations, enclosure capacity and accessible slack storage.
- Cable and hardware selections checked against the installation environment and manufacturer guidance.
- Cable ID convention, splicing records and test plan agreed before execution.
Verify before handover
- Inspect route protection and bend management at cabinets and outlets.
- Confirm end-to-end fiber identity and termination labels.
- Record agreed continuity or optical measurements and as-built changes.
Common questions
Is every fiber route underground?
No. Duct, aerial and in-building pathways are evaluated against site conditions and the approved plan.
What should the owner receive at handover?
At minimum, the agreed as-built routes, termination schedule, labels and test records.
