Data centre and server room network infrastructure
Fiber and copper cabling, racks, patch panels, switching and documented handover for enterprise server rooms and data-centre network areas.

NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE SCOPE
Build around a documented rack and port plan.
A server room depends on the connections between equipment, cabinets, building links and the service-provider handoff. We apply our fiber, structured cabling, rack and network execution scope to these equipment-room connections, with project-specific design, installation, testing and documentation.
Planning starts with the room layout, rack elevations, equipment list, port matrix, link types and approved pathway requirements. Facilities power, cooling, fire protection, room construction and any certification work are identified as separate responsibilities in the project scope.
Fiber backbone and termination
Plan incoming and inter-rack fiber routes, core allocation, LIUs, patch panels, splice records and patch-cord interfaces. Match fiber and connector types to the agreed optics and link design.
Fiber installation and testingStructured copper cabling
Install and identify the specified data links, management connections and patch panels. Agree permanent-link or channel testing, acceptance limits and the required test-report format before work starts.
Structured cablingRacks and organized patching
Coordinate cabinet positions, rack elevations, cable managers, patching paths and access for maintenance. Confirm rack suitability, mounting and bonding interfaces with the equipment and facilities teams.
Rack handover worksheetSwitching and network interfaces
Coordinate uplinks, network segmentation, management access and the router or firewall handoff with the client's IT team. Record configuration ownership, approved changes and any resilience tests included in the scope.
Network planning and installationBEFORE INSTALLATION
Define the work package and its dependencies.
| Planning item | Information to provide | Decision to record |
|---|---|---|
| Racks and equipment | Room layout, rack elevations, device dimensions and access requirements. | Cabinet positions, available space and mounting responsibilities. |
| Connectivity | Port matrix, link speeds, fiber and copper specifications, optics and connector types. | Pathways, termination, spare capacity and labeling convention. |
| Operational changes | Live-service dependencies, permitted work windows and approval contacts. | Change sequence, rollback steps and witness requirements. |
| Facilities interfaces | Approved power, cooling, bonding, fire-protection and pathway arrangements. | Responsibilities and readiness checks before network installation. |
| Acceptance | Required link tests, connectivity checks and document formats. | Pass criteria, report references and client sign-off process. |
TESTING AND DOCUMENTATION
Leave a usable record of every connection.
Testing follows the approved link design, equipment requirements and agreed acceptance method. The handover package makes physical patching, logical connections and operational ownership traceable.
Installation records
- Cable and port identifiers tied to rack and patch-panel locations.
- Fiber core, splice and termination schedules.
- As-built routes and rack elevations.
- Equipment inventory and approved configuration references.
Acceptance and support
- Agreed copper and optical test reports with their test configuration.
- Connectivity, uplink and approved failure-recovery checks.
- Exceptions, remedial actions and client acceptance records.
- Maintenance boundaries, escalation contacts and change control.
Planning questions
Can you extend an existing live server room?
We can review an extension or rearrangement after the client identifies live-service dependencies, authorises the change sequence and agrees the permitted work window.
What does the data-centre service cover?
The agreed network work package can include fiber and copper cabling, termination, racks, switching interfaces, testing, documentation and maintenance. The quotation records the facilities and specialist interfaces that need coordination.
What do you need for a quotation?
Share the site location, room drawings, rack and equipment lists, port matrix, link specifications, consultant requirements, test criteria and target programme. We will review the survey and execution scope with your IT and facilities teams.
Bring the drawings and scope together.
Share your site, equipment requirements and expected programme. We will review the interfaces, BOQ, installation sequence and handover requirements with you.
